Bigwig Courses

The PRICE for all sewing courses is R1000 per month (4 lessons of 3 hours each). On average there are between 5-8 students per class. Classes are multi-level so you can start at any time that suits you.

Beginners sewing courses

No sewing experience is required.

This course runs for 6 months – one lesson a week and includes a free pattern of the first 3 items sewn.
Cost: R1000 ( 4 lessons of 3 hours each) per month.

Thursday morning Sewing Classes at Bigwig (Sechaba Sewing Machines PMB) from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Friday morning Sewing Classes at Bigwig (Sechaba Sewing Machines PMB) from   9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Saturday morning Sewing Classes at Bigwig (Sechaba Sewing Machines PMB) from 9 am to 12 pm

Intermediate sewing courses

Previous sewing experience required.

This course runs for 5 months: days and times as above – one lesson a week and includes the following garments that are made to your measurements:

  • from wrap shirts to hoodies… to
  • Sewing a tailored skirt with zip fitting and waistband
  • Sewing a ladies tailored shirt 
  • Perfecting Pants to fit
  • Lining a Jacket
  • Dressmaking and evening clothes.

A Fashion Design & Pattern-making Course

For beginners.

NEW!  In this exciting course you will learn:

  1. Basic pattern making
  2. Fashion drawing
  3. Finding inspiration
  4. Design a capsule range
  5. Costing a garment
  6. Basic business skills

These classes are at Bigwig (Sechaba Sewing Machines PMB) dates to be confirmed.
Classes continue for 6 to 12 months depending on the level required by the student.
Price is R1000 for 4 lessons, 1 per week.

Private tuition available on request.

Free Form

We also offer an exciting module called “Free Form, Sew what you love” This is for students who have made at least 6 garments and are fairly skilled. You can then choose what type of garment or styles you would love to make, for example: Kiddies – Decor – Gifts – School tracksuits ect.
